(De)composing traces, 2024-2025

”Breaking, digesting, crackling, melting,

dissolving, moving, ringing,

remaining, floating, decomposing.

Above the surface the sound stops.

There is the shore, the remains.

(De)composing traces is focusing on the similarities of life cycles in nature through a comparison of seashells and plastic. One born in the sea, the other manmade on land, they cross paths in the oceans and dissolve, degrade, destruct over time: From raw materials they take form naturally or are manufactured, thereafter  degrading to calcium carbonate, micro-plastic by nature and us. Klaudia Kaźmierczak’s installation offers the opportunity to reflect on the materials and environments around us.
